Overview
Let is a social networking app aimed at teens that lets users post photos, videos and other content, give stars to updates they like, and surfaces top posts and users on a leaderboard. The app emphasizes gamification and has recruited a “long tail” of teenage social media celebrities to drive engagement. Founder Pascal Lorne originally launched Let in fall 2013, bought out his co-founders, and relaunched a revamped version in March of this year after repositioning the product. Let does not disclose total user numbers, but Lorne said growth has been encouraging and that 13- to 18-year-old girls make up about 75% of the user base. The company operates iPhone and Android apps but plans to focus on iOS (iOS accounted for 96% of recent downloads) and is considering shutting down Android. Let employs a full-time team of 13 people split between France and the United States and plans to raise a larger Series A soon.
