Level is a personal finance application that brands itself as a “real-time money meter,” giving users instant visibility into how much money they can safely spend while staying on budget. Launched on iOS in October, the app has already been downloaded 400,000 times and has tracked more than half a billion dollars in consumer spending. It links to 70 U.S. banks, covering over 85% of domestic accounts, and automatically recognizes recurring payments such as student loans and subscriptions. Popular features include Spendable tracking, unified transaction monitoring, and a Rollover Cash projection that estimates month-end savings. The newly released Android version, along with an updated iOS build, adds broader bank support, improved algorithms, and optional PIN protection. Future product plans include goal-based saving tools and advice on allocating surplus cash toward extra loan payments, investments, or discretionary purchases. Targeting users in their twenties and early thirties, Level keeps the app free while it experiments with responsible monetization strategies. The company’s operations are currently supported by a $5 million Series A round led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
