Levidian

17 Mercers Row, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB5 8HY, United Kingdom

Overview

Levidian, founded in 2012 and based in Cambridge, develops the LOOP system that decarbonises methane by cracking it into graphene (carbon) and hydrogen. The hydrogen can be used as a hydrogen-rich gas blend or separated and stored, while the graphene is sold for material-performance and longevity benefits. The company works with customers including National Grid and United Utilities and targets industrial decarbonisation, particularly hard-to-abate sectors. Levidian received a cash injection from Baker Hughes that will bolster production of additional LOOP units and expand graphene manufacturing at its Cambridge headquarters. The funding and partnership are intended to accelerate commercial scale-up and global collaboration to deliver decarbonised solutions. A Baker Hughes executive will join Levidian’s board as part of the agreement, deepening operational and strategic ties.
