Overview

Levo League is an online career resource and networking platform serving women in the first 10 years of their careers. Founded in 2012 by Caroline Ghosn and Amanda Pouchot, the site offers content, networking and local chapters. The company reports 8 million members and operates chapters in 22 cities, including San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, London and Vancouver. Levo plans to launch Levo 2.0 to personalize users' experiences and will use recent funding to grow membership and establish more local chapters worldwide. It also intends to expand its recruitment, retention and brand-engagement services for corporate clients such as Disney, The New York Times, AOL, Bonobos and Southwest Airlines. Financially, Levo has raised more than $8 million to date, including the $7 million angel round announced in this article. Levo League produces editorial and community-driven content aimed at helping young female professionals break through the glass ceiling, describing itself as “smart content for smart women.” The site publishes career advice on topics from negotiating raises to interviewing and workplace presence, and features profiles and generational discussions on issues relevant to women at work. It combines informative content with a community and support network, and launched a more personalized professional platform where users can find mentorship, career opportunities, and more. The company was co-founded by Caroline Ghosn and Amanda Pouchot, who met while consulting at McKinsey & Company, and the site launched in July. Levo’s stated mission is to create a trusted brand and community that helps young professionals maximize their potential without compromising their identities as women. High-profile backers include Sheryl Sandberg and Gina Bianchini, whose involvement the founders say brings visibility and support.
