Overview
Lexigram provides an on-demand SaaS platform that applies natural language processing to unstructured health data and exposes results through APIs. The company launched its first API that ingests free-text notes, PDFs and faxes and offers access to a knowledge graph tied to BioPortal. Lexigram grew out of the Stanford Center for Biomedical Informatics Research; CEO Paul Alexander and cofounders Manuel Salvadores and Paea LePendu worked on BioPortal at Stanford. About one year old, the startup is initially shipping NLP and plans to bring its full data-processing pipeline online next year, which will include machine learning. It is targeting smaller healthcare providers that lack in-house data scientists and aims to enable analytics and clinical decision support on previously unusable EHR data. As an introductory offer it is giving three months free to the first 100 customers, after which customers will pay a monthly subscription fee. The company recently closed a $2 million seed financing to support product rollout.
