LFE develops software and a website that enables hands-on experts to create, publish, and monetize step-by-step instructional courses. The platform emphasizes non-academic, practical skills—carpentry, plumbing and other trades—and walks authors through course creation without requiring internet, marketing, or analytics expertise. Learners can find courses on LFE.com or via affiliate sites and can connect through mobile platforms and smart cards. The company was started in January by CEO Zeev Glozman and announced its product at the DEMO Fall 2012 conference. LFE has four employees and has raised about $500,000 in seed money from friends and colleagues.
