LGND
Berkeley, CA, United States
Overview
LGND builds a geospatial platform based on transformer-based geographic embeddings that enables developers and analysts to create, refine, and deploy scalable Earth datasets. Its "geo-embeddings factory" produces embeddings faster and more affordably than traditional computer vision approaches, allowing datasets to be queried, tuned, and deployed in real time. The company says its platform lowers cost and complexity to integrate Earth data into modern AI workflows and targets use cases such as wildfire risk modeling for insurers, illegal mining detection, and infrastructure monitoring. LGND raised $9 million in financing led by Javelin Venture Partners to accelerate development of its geospatial AI tools. With the funding, LGND plans to launch a no-code geospatial app, an enterprise-facing solution, and to expand developer access through SDKs and APIs, including support for AI agents and MCP integrations. LGND is a remote-first company with hubs in the Bay Area, New York, and Copenhagen and reports initial pilot projects with professional service firms and logistics companies.
