Liberty Hydro, formed in 2009 and based in South Charleston, West Virginia, develops proprietary filtration and advanced treatment systems to remove selenium and other metal contaminants from by-product water associated with mining and industrial applications. The company designs, installs and services those systems for customers in the water and mining sectors. In October 2010 Liberty Hydro received a $500,000 investment from Meidlinger Partners. The funding was made through Meidlinger Partners Sustainable Investments, LP, and includes board participation from the investor. Karen Meidlinger, managing principal at Meidlinger Partners, will join Liberty Hydro’s board of directors. The investment provides capital to support the company’s ongoing operations and deployment of its treatment systems.
