Liefergrün

Berlin, Germany

Overview

Liefergrün is a sustainable last-mile shipping platform that relies on cargo bikes and e-vans to offer zero-carbon deliveries. The company provides two-hour and next-day delivery with real-time tracking via an app and serves major clients including Adidas, Dyson and Every. Founded in 2020 by Niklas Tauch, Max Schleper and Robin Wingenbach and originally from Münster, it is currently present in 30 of Germany’s largest cities. Liefergrün reported a sales expansion of more than tenfold in 2022 and claims to prevent roughly 420 grams of CO2 per delivery compared with conventional last-mile shipments. The new funding will be used to expand its platform, add digital features such as carbon offsetting and refund solutions, and to enter Austria. Financially, the company completed a €3 million seed round six months earlier and has now closed a €12 million Series A. Liefergrün operates a zero-emission last-mile delivery service using cargo bikes and electric vehicles from micro distribution hubs. It currently runs in 30 cities across Germany and offers fully trackable two-hour and next-day delivery. The company estimates its method generates about 180 grams of CO2 per delivery versus the German average of roughly 600 grams. Clients include Adidas, Dyson, and Every. Founded roughly 14 months ago, the team plans to use new funding to expand its offering, grow headcount, and roll the service out across Europe. The founders are Niklas Tauch, Max Schleper, and Robin Wingenbach.
