曦智科技 is a photonic computing hardware company originating from MIT that develops optical computing chips to accelerate AI training and inference. The team produced what it describes as the world’s first photonic chip prototype in April 2019 and validated running TensorFlow convolutional networks on MNIST with over 95% of operations executed on the photonic chip and accuracy above 97%.
