The agent is idle until needed and currently supports JVM languages only; it can pipe logging data to existing tools like Datadog. The company targets enterprise users through both bottom-up (developer-focused) and top-down (R&D management) GTM approaches, while also aiming to become more attractive to smaller teams once onboarding is self-service. Despite just launching out of stealth and offering limited language support, Lightrun already has a number of paying customers. The team is small—about a dozen employees—and plans to use new funding to add support for more languages, improve the service, and add features including tracing.
