Limetrack is a London-based food-waste technology company whose patented ‘Smart bin’ uses IoT sensors to record the weight of discarded food and calculate related carbon emissions, helping clients cut disposal costs and comply with incoming UK and EU recycling regulations. Current customers span NHS Trusts, independent schools, office buildings, restaurants, hotels and care homes, and include major waste-management firms, Sky and Convene. The company has a forward pipeline exceeding 5,700 units slated for 2026. With the fresh capital, Limetrack plans to redesign the product for high-volume manufacturing, boosting output from 20 bins per week to 250 within 10–12 months. Funds will also expand its IP portfolio, secure UK/EU certifications, and grow engineering, operations and customer-delivery teams to support rapid roll-outs. Limetrack’s business model targets recurring data and service revenues linked to each deployed bin. The new financing extends runway to fulfill existing orders while positioning the firm to meet demand created by the UK’s Simpler Recycling laws that became mandatory for larger businesses in March 2025 and will expand to smaller firms in 2027.
