NetQin Mobile, founded in October 2005 and based in Beijing, provides mobile security solutions including anti-virus, anti-spam SMS/telephone and privacy protection to millions of users worldwide. The company has previously received two rounds of venture capital in 2007 totaling $15M from GSR, Sequoia, Ceyuan and Fidelity Asia. NetQin has partnerships that have helped it penetrate Europe and North America, notably with Huawei and PhoneGuard. The recent third round raise of $20M is intended to boost a globalization strategy and accelerate international market expansion. Planned uses include developing products adaptable to more emerging operating systems, enhancing innovation in customer services, and elevating the corporate brand through branding strategy.
