Linnaeus Therapeutics is a Haddonfield, N.J.-based biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel small-molecule oncology therapeutics targeting the G protein-coupled receptor GPER (GPR30). Its lead molecule, LNS8801, was in the final stages of preclinical development. The company intends to use recent financing to conduct a phase 1/2 clinical trial of LNS8801 in patients with advanced cancer and expects to begin its phase 1 clinical program in the near term. In addition to GPER agonists, Linnaeus is developing small molecules that activate other GPCRs to engage tumor-suppressive cellular signaling pathways. The company was formed and launched in partnership with the UPstart incubator at the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Center for Innovation and is led by CEO Patrick Mooney, M.D. It closed a Series B to advance its clinical program.
