Lionano
19 Presidential Way, Suite 103, Woburn, Massachusetts, 01801, United States
Overview
Lionano develops and manufactures a proprietary, nano‑engineered drop‑in cathode material that has been scientifically validated to increase energy density, storage capacity, and cycle life of rechargeable lithium‑ion batteries. The technology targets electric vehicle and consumer electronics markets and is positioned as a high‑performance, high‑quality input for major battery manufacturers. Lionano began mass production at about 1,200 tons per year in early 2018 and plans to ramp production to 10,000 tons per year by the end of 2019. The company will use the Series B proceeds to scale commercial production capacity and enable broader global deployment of its cathode materials. Lionano was founded in 2013 by Cornell‑trained PhD and MBA graduates in collaboration with co‑founder Héctor D. Abruña, and is headquartered in Woburn, Mass.
