Lionbridge provides financial leasing, lease-back and asset-management services to small and medium enterprises across four verticals: heavy-duty vehicles, medical equipment, manufacturing equipment and agriculture equipment. The company announced a $150M strategic investment to bolster capital and partnerships. It plans to cooperate with Baidu and Sunshine Insurance to develop AI risk-control technology, intelligent driving, vehicle networking, and financial and insurance services. Lionbridge will build smart financial and service platforms around commercial-vehicle lifecycle phases and join Baidu's Apollo platform to jointly develop an autonomous-driving solution for China’s highway trunk logistics. The company will also work with partners on risk-control models, data traffic citations, intelligent services for truck drivers and dealer groups, and on designing innovative insurance products through data collaboration and mining. Founded in 2012 and operating in China, Lionbridge had Bain Capital Private Equity acquire 80% of the company in 2014.
