LiORA
144 4th Ave SW, Calgary, Alberta, T2P 3N4, Canada
Overview
LiORA develops subsurface sensors and AI-driven software to analyze soil contamination and recommend remediation strategies. Its technology examines thousands of samples and, according to the company, can halve the duration of a site’s treatment—reducing remediation timelines in some cases from seven years to about three. The company was founded in 2019 and grew out of research supported by the University of Saskatchewan; it is based in the Canadian Prairies. LiORA's roster of clients includes Suncor, Federated Co-op and United Farmers of Alberta. The company says it will use the new funding to grow its team, enhance its technology and expand its market share. LiORA frames itself as mission-driven, focused on remediating, restoring and improving the world’s soils for environmental sustainability.
