LiORA develops subsurface sensors and AI-driven software to analyze soil contamination and recommend remediation strategies. Its technology examines thousands of samples and, according to the company, can halve the duration of a site’s treatment—reducing remediation timelines in some cases from seven years to about three. The company was founded in 2019 and grew out of research supported by the University of Saskatchewan; it is based in the Canadian Prairies. LiORA's roster of clients includes Suncor, Federated Co-op and United Farmers of Alberta. The company says it will use the new funding to grow its team, enhance its technology and expand its market share.
