Overview
LIS Technologies develops the patented Condensation Repression Isotope Selective Laser Activation (CRISLA) laser isotope separation technology, positioned as a U.S.-origin solution for Low-Enriched Uranium (LEU), High-Assay LEU (HALEU), medical and research stable isotopes, and semiconductor/quantum applications. Its CRISLA-3G technology was independently evaluated to meet TRL-4 criteria under DOE guidance and is protected by a U.S. patent. The company has assembled a cross-functional team of scientific, regulatory, and technical experts and recently received a Radioactive Material License from Tennessee to enable procurement of UF6 feedstock for R&D. Financially, LIS has raised over $71 million to date, including the recent $7.128 million oversubscribed round, and was selected in 2024 as one of six awardees under the DOE's LEU Enrichment Acquisition Program. LIS announced plans for a future LEU-3 commercial enrichment facility on LIST Island in Oak Ridge with a projected $1.38 billion investment and an expected capacity of up to 5,500,000 SWUs annually, with construction planning beginning in 2026 and target initial operations in the early 2030s. The company positions its process as more energy-efficient and potentially lower capital and operating cost than conventional enrichment methods.
