Overview
Little Sparrows Technologies, founded in 2013 by Harvard physicians Dr. Donna Brezinski and Dr. Gary Gilbert, develops neonatal medical devices aimed at improving newborn care. Its first marketed product, the bili-hut neonatal phototherapy system, enables rapid, effective treatment of neonatal jaundice in hospital and home settings in the US and abroad. The bili-hut received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2019. The company raised $3M in Seed funding and says it will use the proceeds to expand operations and development efforts. Little Sparrows added board members Douglas A. Treco, PhD, Georgia McGaughey, PhD, and Francis Kim to support growth. Management has stated plans to grow its customer base in the US and globally.
