Overview
Liva Healthcare is a digital health technology platform that combines digital monitoring with human-led therapeutic intervention programmes to prevent, manage and reverse lifestyle-related chronic diseases such as pre-diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and hypertension. Its hybrid approach uses digital tools to monitor and visualise patient indicators (weight, blood sugar) alongside dedicated health coaches and behavioural science techniques to drive sustained lifestyle change. Liva says its programmes have treated over 80,000 patients and demonstrate high retention and strong clinical outcomes in areas such as weight loss and diabetes reversal. The company has expanded its UK presence through the acquisition of Discover Momenta and subsidiary Momenta Newcastle, which provide digital, virtual and in-person healthy lifestyle programmes licensed to NHS organisations and local authorities. The acquisition is intended to increase Liva’s reach and scalability across the UK and beyond, leveraging Momenta’s programme expertise and referral networks. Liva plans to accelerate growth internationally, supported by new investment from IBL Group / Nupo alongside existing backers. Liva Healthcare delivers human-centric, scalable digital health coaching through an advanced app to help prevent and manage obesity, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. The company blends personalised health coaching focused on human relationships with an intuitive, user-friendly interface. Founded in 2015 by the team behind NetDoctor.com, Liva is headquartered in Copenhagen and London. It is operational in Britain, Australia, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, with operations being set up in Germany and Switzerland. The COVID-19 pandemic increased acceptance of remote healthcare and led to significant interest from public healthcare providers and life science companies in 2020. Liva works with clients and partners including Novo Nordisk, AXA Health, Amgen, City of Copenhagen, Bupa Australia and NHS England on its National Diabetes Prevention Programme.
