Lix Technologies runs an online textbook platform (www.lix.com) that provides students access to more than 100,000 books, lower-priced purchases, note-taking and sharing features and other digital learning tools. The company has agreements with more than 300 Danish and international publishers and employed 13 people at the time of the announcement. Lix planned a post-summer 2016 rollout to around 30,000 Danish upper secondary students and intended to offer the platform to further-education students in Denmark and abroad. The business was founded by Camilla Hessellund Lastein and Kasper Enggaard Krog; the announcement notes Lastein was 23 years old. Lix is headquartered in Aarhus and is positioning itself to scale as a global player in the growing digital textbook market.
