LoanBook operates a marketplace focused on providing working capital loans and other working capital finance to Spanish SMEs. Led by CEO James Buckland and founded in 2013, the company is based in Barcelona and has a team of 15 professionals. To date the platform has funded nearly €5 million of loans and reported over 100% growth in monthly credit origination during the prior six months. The company raised €1.1m in equity funding in the reported round, bringing total equity raised since launch to €2.7m. LoanBook intends to use the proceeds to develop new channels to market and for operational and technology development to support growth in 2016.
