Localyze

Am Bäckerbreitergang 28, Hamburg, 20355, Germany

Overview

Localyze offers admin automation, digital case management and human support to help employers manage immigration and cross-border staff moves. Founded in 2018 and based in Hamburg, the startup has expanded into 10 European markets and counts customers such as Pleo, Wefox and Remote. Its customer base has grown from 120+ to over 400 and revenue is up sixfold year-over-year. The company is preparing a U.S. and Canada launch (targeting January 2023) and plans broader global expansion, including initial APAC markets next year and a goal to cover 50 markets by 2025. Localyze recently acquihired San Francisco HR firm TruePlan to strengthen UX/UI, has built a U.S. go-to-market team, and will have co-founders splitting time between Europe and the U.S. A large portion of investment is being directed to product development and R&D to scale the platform and keep immigration capabilities in-house. Localyze provides an enterprise mobility platform to help companies manage employee relocation and internationalization. The platform streamlines the entire migration process—from visa applications, work and residence permits and registration to housing and banking—for high-growth enterprises. Beyond relocation, Localyze supports opening new locations, business trips, temporary mobility and remote employment assessments while allowing HR teams to monitor each step and ensure compliance. Customers include Free Now, Trade Republic, Babbel, Thoughtworks, Tier Mobility, DeepL, Forto and Personio. The Hamburg-based company was founded in 2018 and participated in Y Combinator Summer 2019 as it grew its product and customer base. It recently raised $12M and plans to use the funds to accelerate product development, hire across engineering, product design and marketing, and expand into Ireland, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands and the UK.
