Founded in 2023 as a spin-off from the Instituto Tecnológico del Plástico (Aimplas), Lofith Composites has created a proprietary process that homogeneously bonds carbon or glass fibers with thermoplastic matrices to produce lighter, stronger and fully recyclable composite materials. These materials are tailored for applications ranging from EV battery casings and vehicle components to satellite parts and hydrogen tanks. After five years of R&D within Aimplas, the company began commercial sales in September 2024 and currently manufactures only a few tonnes per year inside Aimplas’ facilities. Market demand already exceeds 20–50 t annually, prompting plans to install an independent production line and secure a 600 m² plant in the Valencian Community by 2026, with the airport of Castellón under consideration. Lofith works with customers in Germany, Denmark, France and Spain and is exploring bio-based fiber alternatives to meet sustainability requirements. Revenue jumped from roughly €1,000 in 2023 to about €225,000 in 2024, with projections of surpassing €1 million in 2025 and reaching €15 million by 2030. The company positions its technology as a critical enabler for weight reduction and efficiency gains across mobility and aerospace markets.
