Overview
LogRocket is a software provider focused on frontend monitoring and analytics for web and mobile applications. Founded in 2016 by Matt Arbesfeld and Ben Edelstein, the platform offers session replay, network and code-level error logs, funnels, heat maps and scroll maps to help teams reproduce and diagnose user issues. The company recently launched a mobile app monitoring product and a Conditional Recording feature that uses machine learning to detect negative user experiences and capture granular data. LogRocket reports 2,600 paying customers and says it monitors 3.5 billion app sessions and 300 billion user interactions per year. The business emphasizes surfacing actionable insights rather than more raw data to help product and engineering teams optimize conversions and reduce time to fix customer issues. Current plans announced include using new funding for R&D and to grow headcount from about 130 people to roughly 180 by year-end. LogRocket provides a platform that records and indexes customer interactions to help developers find and resolve website and app errors. The company offers analytics across the customer experience so teams can determine frequency and impact of problems. It announced LogRocket Metrics, a new tool that lets developers search across all customers for specific errors and assess effects on conversion rates and who was affected. CEO Matthew Arbesfeld describes the functionality as an error search engine that indexes every interaction. LogRocket plans to invest proceeds in engineering, sales and marketing, and to hire data scientists to build additional features from its data. Financially, the company has raised more than $30 million to date and recently closed a $15 million Series B. It still holds most of its $11 million Series A in the bank as it scales to work with larger customers. LogRocket provides a tool that captures real-time recordings of user activity and the related HTML/CSS so developers can replay exactly what went wrong and troubleshoot faster. Rather than storing full video, the product captures code and focuses on "frustrating moments" to target problem areas and reduce storage needs. Customers access the data via a LogRocket dashboard or through integrations with help-desk software such as Zendesk. The company grew to 25 employees and 500 customers in 18 months, including Reddit, Ikea, and Bloomberg. LogRocket plans to expand to a much wider audience by building a mature sales and marketing organization and aims for thousands of customers and ambitious revenue goals. Financially, the company has raised $15 million to date, including an $11 million Series A and an earlier $4 million seed.
