LoopFX is a London-based foreign-exchange trading platform. Augmentum Fintech announced a £2.6m investment in the company. Augmentum's CEO Tim Levene described LoopFX founder and CEO Blair Hawthorne as one of the “most impressive” founders he had met, citing a clear vision and deep domain expertise. Levene framed the investment within Augmentum's long-held thesis that the institutional foreign-exchange market is inefficient and lacks digitisation. He said the market is now much more receptive to propositions like LoopFX than it was five years ago. The investment was disclosed alongside Augmentum reporting a 3.1% increase in net asset value to £303.3m and growth in its investment portfolio to £265.1m for the year ending 31 March 2024.
