Lord of the Trees is a New York-based ecosystem restoration company and public benefit corporation led by CEO Aymeric Maudous, with pending B-Corp certification. The company combines high technology (artificial intelligence, robotics, and drones) with Lo-Tek (local traditional ecological knowledge) to regenerate damaged ecosystems. Its core product is precision-planting drones capable of scattering about 400,000 seed pods in 12 hours and proprietary seed pods that contain nutrients to optimize germination and root development. The company plans to prioritize restoring blue carbon sources—mangroves, tidal marshlands, and kelp forests—because they can absorb 3–5x more carbon dioxide than regular forests.
