Love is a people-powered pharma startup co-founded by Ryan Breslow that plans to create a DAO to fund and test homeopathic and other pharmaceutical alternatives. Members are expected to buy Love tokens with Ethereum or another reserve currency, discuss treatments, vote on which should be tested in clinical trials, and have the DAO underwrite the studies. The concept is described as theoretical at this point and is intended to replicate how big drug companies work in order to produce clinical data on alternatives. Love raised $7.5 million in seed funding from Human Capital and MaC Venture Capital. The company says it will monetize by purchasing some Love tokens itself and by selectively launching different health-related brands under the Love umbrella. According to Breslow, both Human Capital and MaC are also investors in his other company, Bolt.
