loveelectric.cars is an Edinburgh-based fintech that provides low-cost leased electric company cars. Its leasing costs are said to be roughly 50% less than leasing directly and far less than buying new, enabled by a government tax break designed to encourage EV take-up. The company recently won Digital Start-up of the Year at the ScotlandIS Digital Technology Awards and secured a Scottish EDGE prize. Founder and CEO is Steve Tigar. Prior to the Scottish EDGE award the company had raised £925,000 from Techstart Ventures, Marchmont Ventures, Stephen Garland and Bill Dobbie. Together with the Scottish EDGE prize, loveelectric.cars has raised to over £1 million.
