Lucata Corporation

Overview

Lucata provides a new computer architecture that enables organizations to accelerate and scale graph analytics. Led by Michael Mallick, the company leverages patented migrating thread technology to massively scale unified memory and conduct high-performance, multi-hop analytics, including breadth-first search (BFS), on unpruned and unsharded databases with 1 trillion vertices and beyond. Its solution can be used with today’s graph database software or custom-written graph solutions, enabling organizations to use existing software to analyze much larger graphs. Target use cases include fraud detection, cybersecurity, blockchain, risk assessment and healthcare. The company has offices in Palo Alto, New York City and South Bend, Ind. Lucata raised $11.9M in a Series B to accelerate growth and expand operations and business reach. Emu Technology is a NYC-based provider of migratory thread technology for data-intensive, real-time Big Data analytics. Its Emu Chick is a 256-core computer tower built and delivered by Plexus manufacturing in Neehah, WI, designed to run from 120 VAC without special computer room infrastructure. The system provides memory and storage for analytics workloads including graph analysis, cybersecurity, non-obvious relationship analysis and semi-supervised machine learning, and is software compatible with larger Emu1 systems. Emu's technology combines finely grained parallelism with in-memory computing and migration of compute context to data. The team has completed software support for CentOS 7.3, Cilk, C++, CilkPlus and the GMP library. The company completed a Series A-2 round raising over $5M and intends to use the funds to continue developing and scale adoption of its platform.
