Lucid Lane was founded by Adnan Asar following his personal experience with medication withdrawal in his family, and it staffs clinicians and advisors with pain and anesthesiology expertise. The startup cites rising demand driven by COVID-19 and estimates a large addressable population (it references roughly 50 million people prescribed opioids and 13 million prescribed benzodiazepines annually). The company is preparing clinical studies to start at the Palo Alto VA hospital.
