Lucidum

Overview
Lucidum develops an IT asset discovery platform that employs patent-pending machine learning to discover, triangulate, and identify assets across cloud, security, and IT operations. The platform identifies computers, mobile devices, cloud environments, IoT devices, microservices, and other known and unknown assets, and feeds that context to IT operations, security, cloud, compliance, and finance teams via integrations and an open API. Common use cases include finding unknown assets that access confidential information, uncovering unmanaged vulnerable assets, stopping idle cloud instances to save IT costs, and tracking how confidential data was accessed or exfiltrated. Fortune 500 companies rely on the Lucidum platform for visibility and attack-surface management. Lucidum said it secured $15 million in a Series A to fund business expansion and has recently added a VP of Sales and a Head of Marketing to its leadership team. Since announcing its first outside funding round in 2020, the company says it has built momentum as cyber asset attack surface management (CAASM) becomes increasingly integrated into enterprise tech stacks. Lucidum offers a platform that automates asset discovery and visibility across cloud, security, and IT operations using patent-pending machine learning to triangulate context from large volumes of pre-existing data. The platform identifies known and unknown computers, mobile devices, cloud environments, IoT devices, microservices, and other assets without agents or scans, and answers where assets are, what they are, and how they are used. It integrates with nearly 100 popular tools and exposes an open API to feed IT operations, security, cloud, compliance, and finance teams. The company says Fortune 500 firms rely on the platform and that it was built with input from senior security leaders across industries. Lucidum launched with a limited early access program and plans a community edition in Q1 2021. The company was founded by former Splunk security leaders Joel Fulton and Charles Feng.
