Lumen Energy launched Auto PPA, an automated power purchase agreement software that helps facilities managers and property owners find and implement the best renewable energy for each building in a portfolio. Auto PPA evaluates development, deployment and operation costs and finances solar and battery installations with zero upfront capital, creating new net operating income by replacing future utility grid expenditure with predictable contract payments. The product provides a full cash-flow model and performs underwriting in the background so facility operators can evaluate personalized offers for development, deployment and operation. Lumen supplies two-page clean energy reports that summarize project economics to help facilities managers make a business case. Large commercial real estate players, including Bridge Investment Group, Hines and Tishman Speyer, are using the software, the company said. The Auto PPA launch coincided with Lumen Energy receiving $11 million in Series A funding and the company recently became a participant in the Urban Land Institute’s greenprint program.
