Overview
Lumeris operates as a value-based care managed services operator for health systems and providers, leveraging an AI-powered technology stack to collaborate with health systems and physician practices nationwide. It shares risk and operational responsibilities with providers to implement value-based models tailored to each population. Those models target Medicare Advantage, Traditional Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial populations, aiming to improve quality metrics, enhance patient experience and physician satisfaction, and reduce total cost of care. The company is led by CEO Mike Long. Lumeris recently closed $100M in equity growth funding. It intends to use the funds to expand provider partnerships, including health systems and physician groups. Lumeris is a pioneer in population health management solutions. Through its operations, technology and consulting services, the company enables health care organizations to transition from volume- to value-based care. Its offerings help create Population Health Services Organizations, define populations for risk, and equip providers with process improvement strategies, technology tools, and clinical workflows. Lumeris also collaborates with payers to ensure appropriate contracts, measures and incentives are in place to influence physician behavior and drive quality, cost and utilization performance. A recent approximately $71 million private financing raised by its parent will be used to strengthen Lumeris’ market position and expand its value-based care solutions from eight to 20 U.S. markets. In its eight initial markets Lumeris has partnerships that provide services to 14 million consumers and expects to partner with organizations representing more than 50 million lives after the planned expansion. Essence Group (EGHC) operates through subsidiaries including Lumeris to deliver software, services and consulting for accountable health care. Lumeris supplies an integrated framework that delivers 22 core competencies through its Maestro, Maestro Plus and Tacklebox offerings. Maestro is described as an Enterprise Performance Management System that provides evidence-based decision support for payers, hospitals and physicians. The company says it built and tested its solutions for five years and measured results across hundreds of physicians and tens of thousands of patients. Most of the new capital from this financing will be invested in Lumeris to scale its accountable-care technologies and services. EGHC positions its offerings to help payers, hospitals and physician groups transition to value-driven, coordinated care.
