Lumi provides creator tools, a distribution platform, and a revenue-share plan designed to help storytellers tell and retain ownership of their narratives. It is launching with features targeted at manga illustrators: a text-based AI model to define character backstories and traits, AI image generation for character art, story-planning and script-generation assistance, and automated formatting into a graphic novel. Creators can publish digital stories on Lumi’s website and opt into physical publishing and merchandising services that Lumi will handle. The product is offered via three monthly subscription tiers at $20, $40, and $75, with higher tiers unlocking advanced features. Lumi positions itself as an end-to-end media company that intends to venture into video eventually and is explicit about addressing biases in foundational AI models. The company emerged from stealth with seed funding and is opening a beta to creators.
