Lumigo
2 Shaw Alley 4th Floor, San Francisco, California, 94105, United States
Overview
Lumigo provides a cloud-native observability platform focused on monitoring, distributed tracing and debugging for modern cloud applications. It began with a focus on serverless platforms and integrations for AWS services such as API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3 and Lambda. The company is expanding its SaaS to cover containers, Kubernetes and virtual machines. Lumigo offers a paid SaaS service with a free tier and a free command-line tool for analyzing and tuning AWS Lambda and Kinesis-based services. Notable customers include Medtronic, Vimeo and Sonos. The company will use new funding to double its 30-person team and build out marketing, product and engineering headcount. Lumigo builds a visual-mapping monitoring platform that shows operations teams exactly what’s happening inside serverless applications and traces requests across adjacent services like databases and storage. The product surfaces end-to-end request paths to help teams identify root causes in environments using AWS Lambda and similar services. The company emerged from stealth and was founded by ex-Checkpoint executives Erez Berkner and Aviad Mor. For now Lumigo is working primarily with AWS but plans to add support for other cloud platforms. The founders also intend to expand beyond serverless to monitor containers and API services such as Twilio and Stripe. The startup has eight employees and about a dozen customers; the new funding is intended to hire more engineers and further develop the product.
