Lumina Networks is a San Jose, Calif.-based open source networking company that provides SDN controller solutions. The company operates independently following a spin-off from Brocade in August 2017 and is led by founder and CEO Andrew Coward. Its core product, the Lumina SDN Controller powered by OpenDaylight, offers an open platform for developers and gives providers direct control over SDN development and implementation. The OpenDaylight SDN Controller is widely deployed, supporting over 1 billion users worldwide. Lumina intends to use the Series A proceeds to develop new products and innovative solutions and to expand geographically. The company closed a $10M Series A financing to support these initiatives.
