Overview
Luminate provides an in-image platform that lets publishers identify, tag and match products within photos and link them to advertiser inventories via a single line of code. The company rebranded from Pixazza last year and debuted interactive in-image applications that let consumers browse, share, shop and engage directly from images. Luminate launched an Image App Store and released eleven new image apps (including apps for Causes, Netflix and Wikipedia) to give publishers selectable functionality. The platform reaches more than 150 million unique users per month, serves roughly 30 billion image views per year, and works with over 7,000 publishers, including Us Weekly, Hearst Digital Media and Access Hollywood. Management says it will expand the platform to third-party developers with an API. The new funding will be used for product development, to expand the publisher network and to broaden relationships with brand advertisers.
