Luna offers a mattress cover that lets users vary temperature across the bed, track sleep, and connect sensors to other smart devices. The company ran a successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign that raised more than $1 million and used the campaign to gather early-user feedback. Co-founder Matteo Franceschetti said feedback from the campaign highlighted the importance of Bluetooth connectivity and security, which Luna is incorporating into the product. Luna also secured $1.3 million in private funding prior to the crowdfunding push. The company reports that the $1.3 million in private funding is roughly the same amount as its revenue from pre-orders and crowdfunding. Luna is part of Y Combinator’s current class and has shown a working prototype.
