Luxa is a Japanese daily-deals site similar to Groupon that focuses on premium items such as branded cosmetics, alcohol, and up-market restaurants. It launched operations in August 2010 and has grown to around 350,000 members. The company is headquartered in Tokyo and has opened additional offices in Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. Luxa has raised a total of $10.6 million to date from two equal-sized rounds. The Series A in November 2010 and the recent Series B were each $5.3 million. JAFCO backed both rounds. The company's founder and CEO is Swimmy Minami, who also founded BizReach.jp.
