Luxus is building a platform to make colored diamonds and other luxury gems investable through fractional ownership and Reg A+ style offerings. The company was co-founded by Dana Auslander and Gretchen Gunlocke Fenton and officially launched today, with plans to debut its first offering later this month pending SEC approval. Luxus plans to list gems from partner jewelers who will handle security and custody; its launch offering is a rare argyle pink diamond valued at $400,000, offered as 2,000 $200 shares. The platform will charge brands a listing fee and will levy a 50–75 basis point management fee to investors, plus a “buy it now” sales channel feature. Luxus intends to use a Series LLC structure to group assets for accounting efficiency and expects holding periods of roughly 18 months to three years. The company raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding to prepare for launch and says all platform diamonds will comply with the Kimberley Process.
