The company was founded in 2015 and operates out of Switzerland. Lykke aims to grow its platform internationally and deepen its blockchain product offerings through strategic partnerships. The firm has engaged Hanwha Systems as a strategic investor and partner to accelerate expansion in Asia and the broader blockchain industry. Management emphasizes the partnership as a gateway for platform growth and cross-regional collaboration. Lykke operates a global blockchain marketplace that enables easy management and trading of cryptocurrencies and other digitized assets. The company is headquartered in Zug and employs about 25 staff in Switzerland and roughly 80 employees and contractors worldwide. Lykke reports more than 90,000 registered accounts and a total trading volume exceeding $1.5 billion transferred via its marketplace. Tamedia has made an investment and plans to support Lykke’s growth, product development, marketing and B2C efforts. The partnership could lead to development of new offerings for Tamedia customers, including potential new payment services tied to Tamedia products. Samuel Hügli of Tamedia has joined Lykke’s board as part of the agreement. Lykke is a Swiss FinTech building a secure global marketplace on the blockchain for exchanging financial assets. Its core product is the Lykke Exchange, which aims to encourage participation by enabling direct ownership of assets and immediate settlement of trades. The company issued the LKK2Y, a two-year forward Ethereum-based token that grants the right to receive digital shares in Lykke Corp exactly two years after execution. In a 24-hour sale, Lykke raised almost 6 million CHF through the LKK2Y offering. The sale began on December 12 with whitelisted participants at 12:00 and all qualified traders at 14:00, and a secondary market was scheduled to start on December 18. Founder and CEO Richard Olsen said the company was pleased with the results and the ongoing support for its trading platform and long-term goals. Lykke operates a blockchain-powered trading platform and marketplace for FX and digital assets, with Lykke Wallet apps on iOS and Android that let users buy and sell currencies and assets on the Lykke Exchange. The company issues tokens under the symbol LKK as colored coins on the Bitcoin blockchain. It recently offered a new deliverable 1-year forward equity contract token, LKK1Y, which can convert to Lykke equity coins after one year. The LKK1Y was sold at a fixed price of 0.04 CHF (roughly a 15% discount to the public LKK price of ~0.047 CHF at the time of the offering). After a three-week settlement period the forward contracts become tradable on the Lykke platform. Richard Olsen is CEO and the company is based in Zurich.
