Malmö, Skane Lan, Sweden

Overview

Lytics offers a Customer Data Platform (CDP) that centralizes customer data, produces actionable intelligence, and enables goal-based, individualized customer journeys across channels. The platform shifts marketers from complex, rule-based flows to optimized, personalized campaign orchestration. Lytics plans to use new funding to scale, add deeper connectivity to marketing tools, expand reporting options, and mature its deployment methodology to accelerate customers’ time to value. The company reported a record 2018 in which revenue grew nearly 3x and platform adoption more than doubled across industries. Today more than 175 enterprise brands use Lytics, including Nestlé, The Economist, AEG, Atlassian and 1-800 Contacts. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Lytics has enabled one-to-one marketing programs since 2014. Lytics offers a customer data platform that captures and aggregates customer data across various databases and marketing tools, then applies machine learning to help clients personalize marketing. Its platform is used by companies including Getty Images, Heineken, General Mills, Nestle, The Economist Group, AdWeek, Newsweek, Comcast NBCUniversal and Atlassian. The company emphasizes support for enterprise customers and aims to accelerate growth following the new funding. Lytics competes with internal analytics teams, consultancies, and startups such as Amperity, Amplero and Usermind. The company employs 61 people. Financially, Lytics has raised more than $21 million to date, including a $7 million round in 2014. Lytics provides a cloud-based adaptive digital marketing platform that integrates all touch points, surfaces behaviors of customers and prospects, and proactively recommends how best to target audiences across web, mobile, email and social channels. The platform is used by customer-centric companies including Condé Nast, The Clymb, DIRECTV and Intel. Led by CEO James McDermott and CTO Aaron Raddon, Lytics raised $7M in Series A funding. The company has now raised $9.2M in total. The round was led by Comcast Ventures with participation from Rembrandt Venture Partners, Voyager Capital and angel investors including Nick Brien, Tim Kopp and Brett Queener. Lytics intends to use the funds for product development, recruiting talent and expansion. Lytics provides a database and analytics platform that creates a Facebook-style timeline of customer interactions to help marketers understand and act on customer behavior. The service collects data from customers as they interact with a brand and aggregates information from SaaS marketing tools to build real-time customer profiles. By presenting an ongoing narrative of customer data, Lytics aims to reduce the laborious process of extracting and stitching data across silos. The product targets marketers who are increasingly doing their own analytics outside traditional enterprise systems. Lytics positions itself as an alternative to marketing automation incumbents by focusing on real-time, marketer-friendly customer intelligence. The company sees an opening in serving marketers with a more relevant service that provides a clearer picture for campaign decision-making.
