Macadamia Apps builds GroupShot, an iPhone photo‑editing app that swaps faces across multiple photos to create a single polished group shot. Users choose two or more photos from the camera roll, Photo Stream, or camera, then mark faces to replace by rubbing with a finger; the app inserts better faces from the selected photos. GroupShot automatically selects the best base image and accounts for alignment, backgrounds, hair, and other vision challenges to produce seamless results. The company was formed by CEO Yair Bar‑On and Gil Megidish, who previously created the photo‑sharing site Dumpr.net. Macadamia Apps has $100,000 in seed funding from an undisclosed investor. The startup plans to launch more image‑processing apps soon, including Android versions.
