Overview

Machinations.io provides a browser-based toolset that lets game designers express game systems and run large-scale simulations to generate millions of gameplay progression data points. The platform serves premium, free2play, and play2earn games and is used by 35,000+ professionals and 400+ academic institutions. Machinations has a fast-growing open community and is rolling out integrations with popular telemetry providers and markets. The company intends to use new capital to hire and develop powerful new features. Co-founder & CEO Mihai Gheza described the vision as a future where systems, architects, and data speak the same language and predict collectively. Founded in 2018 and operating from Luxembourg, Machinations aims to become the standard for game-economy modelling, forecasting, and optimisation. Machinations offers a visual, drag-and-drop platform that lets game designers architect scenarios, simulate thousands of games and generate heatmaps forecasting gameplay outcomes and revenue impact. The system implements academic research by Joris Dormans and was commercialized by a team led by CEO Mihai Gheza. It has 8,000 registered game‑development professionals and is taught in over 50 universities, including Cornell and Columbia, despite the company having spent no money on advertising or marketing. Machinations was ideated in 2014 and officially launched in fall 2018; the company is incorporated in Luxemburg and completed the Fit4Start accelerator. The product is positioned to address a $140 billion games market and the team envisions applying its simulation language to other chaotic systems such as logistics, aviation and energy. The company has received earlier funding from Seedcamp and recently won a €125K Startup Spotlight award, which bolsters its early commercial traction.
