Overview
Macomics develops precision medicines that selectively modulate tumour-associated macrophages (TAMs) to alter the tumour microenvironment and enhance anti-cancer immunity. Its target discovery platform identifies and validates novel macrophage therapeutic targets using analysis of human disease tissue, in silico data mining, and functional cellular models. The company is progressing a diversified portfolio of therapies, including antibody programs that it is advancing towards the clinic. Macomics plans to expand its portfolio and further invest in its target discovery technology, with a planned Series A to accelerate development. It has expanded R&D and office facilities on Cambridge Science Park and taken additional laboratory and cell culture space within the University of Edinburgh. The company was co-founded in 2019 by Prof Jeffrey Pollard and Dr Luca Cassetta and is backed by Epidarex Capital, Scottish Enterprise and Caribou Property Limited.
