Maergo operates a platform that identifies and fills spare belly capacity on commercial flights to enable faster, cheaper middle-mile and air shipping for e-commerce brands. The company integrates data from hundreds of partners, including major carriers such as United, JetBlue and Southwest, to route parcels from distribution centers to aircraft. Maergo says its basic service delivers in two to three days and can be offered to consumers for free or a low price that brands can afford. It highlights a smaller carbon footprint by leveraging existing flight capacity already in progress. Maergo has been quietly operating since 2019, rebranded from X Delivery in November, and says it has made 8 million shipments to date for customers including Saks Fifth Avenue, Allbirds, Chubbies and Buck Mason. The space is crowded with competitors and fulfillment providers, and Maergo plans to use recent funding to expand and build out its shipping approach.
