Magine is a Swedish cloud-based TV operator offering an OTT television delivery platform. The company is already live in Sweden and hosts brands and channels including Discovery, CNN International, BBC, Eurosport, National Geographic, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and national broadcasters SVT and TV4. Magine is available on Apple devices and Samsung smart TVs, with additional TV platforms and Android tablets planned. It raised $19M in financing from Swedish and international investors to expand its recently deployed OTT service. The company intends to use the funds to launch the platform in Germany and Spain. Magine was founded by Michael Werner, Mattias Hjelmstedt, Erik Wikstrom, Xavier Ritort and Hakan Tranvik and is negotiating with a number of other major international media and entertainment groups.
