Magzter offers a proprietary web-based publishing tool that pushes magazine editions simultaneously to iOS, Google Play, Windows 8, the web and app stores such as Amazon and Huawei. The company reports over 900 publisher partners and more than 2,850 magazine issues published in two years of operation. It has signed high-profile U.S. publications including Hearst, Condé Nast and Newsweek. Magzter charges publishers via a usage-based revenue-share model rather than a subscription fee and also supports HTML5 for custom interactive functionality. The team is working on product solutions to automatically reformat content for small-screen devices so publishers can reach iPhone users alongside tablet audiences. The recent funding will be used to accelerate global growth and expand awareness of Magzter’s platform for international and localized editions.
