Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited builds homegrown electric vehicles and aims to accelerate availability and adoption of EVs in India and other markets. BII highlights priority areas including EV batteries, circular economy, EV charging infrastructure and a Net Zero strategy for the company. British International Investment committed $244.6m in equity to the company in July 2022 (investment currency recorded as INR). BII states it is partnering with M&M to align the investee to international environmental and social standards and to raise ESG performance. The investment is fully climate finance qualified (mitigation) and fully 2X gender finance qualified.
